Responsible Dog Ownership Day (RDO) 2009 RDO was held on September 12, 2009 at Pittsburgh Mills Mall. We collected
cash donations to be distributed to local shelters of club members, once we
complete all of our Community Service events for 2009. We want to thank Janice, a representative of Animal Protectors of Allegheny
Valley for coming to support our event, offering information on how to be a
Responsible Pet Owner. Also on hand was Raylene Hoover, of Your Critter Sitters
with information on in-home pet sitting and demonstrating mini-massages for
pets. We had a cat basket and dog basket to raffle. Congratulations to winners,
Lexie, from Pittsburgh, of the Cat basket, and Gloria from New Kensington, for
winning the Dog Basket. Meet the Breeds took place and included several beagles, two Goldens,
wiemeraner, English Cocker, Field Spaniel and our own Irish, Joan with "Dewey"
and Lorrie with "Mulligan". "Dewey" and "Mulligan" demonstrated their obedience
training. Members on hand were Coleen, Deb, Skip, Ruth, Joan, Lorrie, and Sally Evans.
The members of GTISC wish to thank participants, winners, Pittsburgh Mills and the public that came by to support our event.
