 Guy Pat & Debbie Calmbacher

Hi there from the Calmbachers in West Virginia! Pat and Debbie

We are glad to be part of the GTISC! We have two grown daughters, Kelly & Patricia. We are blessed with four grandsons, Jarek, Kalvin, Kamdin & Fenix. Pat works for the city in the recycling department. Debbie works for the county school system with special needs and Alternative students.

We adopted our Cassie, an Irish in May 2009. We didn't know much about the breed so we started looking on the internet. We found the GTISC! We have received much information from the club members!

Cassie is a Field Irish Setter. She was bred for hunting. She needs lots of exercise and activities daily to keep her happy! She has been taking obedience classes since we got her. It is a slow process but we are making progress! She can be very stubborn, and can be seen turning her head away from us when she doesn't want to listen! This year she received her CGC, and TDI. She has been working as a Therapy Dog in local nursing homes. She is an excellent "fit" for our family. We call her our "love bug." She is always snugggling up with us! She is especially gentle with our special needs grandson. Cassie has a play buddy, Speedy, our tabby cat which she "points" and chases on a daily basis.

An Irish Setter is a great family pet as long as you have plenty of room for them to run, and lots of activities to keep them busy!!

Meet Cassie
