Fall Weenie Roast And Meeting At Ruth's
October 2010

We had the most perfect fall afternoon to be outdoors! Following our meeting, Lisa conducted CGC testing for those who wanted to give it a whirl! Ruth's son, Wayne, built us a fire in the pit, where we cooked hotdogs, kielbasa and smores over the open fire. As always, there was plenty of food to go around. It was quite relaxing to sit around the fire with friends, sharing food and the smell of the wood burning. With a colorful backdrop, the smell of autumn was in the air. We thank Wayne for getting us all set up for our gathering and for Ruth and Wayne for having us. Thank you to Lisa for her CGC testing. Congratulations to our new certified dogs, Quincy, Dugan, Diddle, Drummer and Claire! Also, congratulations to Lorrie and Mulligan, who joined us following a stop at the rally trials held down the road, where Mulligan finished his Rally Advanced title. We were pleased to have our WV members, Pat, Deb and Irish Cassie, able to join us for the day. Our newest puppy in attendance was Lisa's new Bernese Mountain dog...Benny!

While we had dinner, our very own vet-tech, Paula answered a lot of basic medical questions. She had some wonderful tips for us...such as never give your dogs specific over the counter human medications, don't squeeze a tick (it can spread lymes through the air we breath, what meds should be a staple in your dog's medicine cabinet. A list will be provided in the November newsletter. Thank you to Paula for the very informative Q & A segment.
